Wondering how it would look if hummingbird and gocycle made a kid bike. a small light weight easy foldable bike would be amazing to have.

Hello, I'm interested in getting a Hummingbird e-bike. I live in NYC. Because this bike comes from the UK, there are regulations that limit speed. Is it true that in the UK, the law for a 250 watt motor maximizes at 15.5 mph pedal assisted? If you pedal faster than 15.5 mph, the motor cuts out? This is awful. The motor should stay on and if you pedal faster then you go faster. If the motor cuts out at 15.5 mph that's terrible. There's no way to make the bike go 30 mph. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

They're both supercool bikes. The Gocycle is heavier but with bigger and wider tires, it's a nicer ride than the Hummingbird.

I contacted Jet Black yesterday about the auto calibration which was introduced- I got a response saying that the firmware update v3.13 has REMOVED this and they "hope" to reintroduce it in a later release (Seems it was crap and/or causing issues) I asked about manual calibration and was advised to do this "once a week after at least 10 minutes warming up the unit"....

I got one for £209 from SportsDirect in June..... updated the firmware and put it away as a "backup" to my Kickr V5.... The V5 died on me the other day, seems a fault had by many it will connect via DirCon/Ant/Ble but there's no power/cadence transmitted and tried it on Zwift and Indievelo...seems it's "bricked" and needs replaced...pretty sh*t it's tbh, just over a year old and got a 7 month break over the summer also.... JBV seems pretty decent and the BLE bridge for adding in my HR data is a welcome addition. Only thing I've really noticed is the smaller lighter flywheel doesn't feel as good as the V5...but it works and the V5 doesn't....waiting on Wahoo replying to my support ticket now.... that's the thing with an indoor setup, you do need a Plan B because it will let you down when you really need it- ie mid January in the Scottish Highlands.... I have a "spare" of everything- Zwift enabled 13th gen PC with GTX 1660Super , 32" 1440p monitor, Vacmaster 54 and even a spare Lifeline rocker plate....

Do the insoles have to be continually worn to sustain the benefits? As in could I wear them for a year to strengthen and then be done with them

They should call these regular and the standard ones large. The standard size doesn't fit well on the average head size. The 2 centimetre over hang at the back is annoying.

Just a quick thing...when i opened mine from new I thought they weren't working after fiddling about foe ten mins or so I realised that the battery was dead! There was nothing saying "charge before use" in the instructions but to save you the ten mins probably worth checking the battery life before anything else!

Among the gaming graphic bike training software, I found Bkool to be unimpressive, and of the others tried I was impressed with Zwift, MyWhoosh, IndieVelo, Wahoo TGT and of course Virtupro. However, Virtupro was promptly uninstalled: Tried it. Lots of freezing. Whether ANT+, BT, doesn't matter, every 3 to 5 seconds it freezes and then zooms up to catch up. Got nauseous, went back to Indievelo and MyWhoosh and RGT and Zwift. No problems with them, all easily paired and no freezing. Virtupro was a challenge to pair up, and despite a high powered gaming PC and gigablast internet, it was pretty trashy and bad. There's clearly a software issue that no other platform has. A shame, since the graphics are great and the setup looked promising. Further, when I contacted them I got nothing back. They could care less about optimizing the product, so I am not going to endorse anyone to pay for it.

Measure them please!! Just showing them on a head without knowing his measurement by the shokz guide doesn't help

Not helpful at all as hands are in the way (when installing) and also shaking the bike without one s weight does not prove how solid the mount is.

i tired something similar with the kincet wiimote on a stationary bike. And it was awesome. Gamification is really fun to use. Playing resident Evil 5 or Mass Effect brought this to a new level. I programmed it like when pedaling use your anlog stick to moved around as soon i stopped pedaling the joystick does nothing. I hope you can use your own button layout.

I have one and only issue I've found is power reading inaccuracy in zwift due to tire slippage.

The trainer that you use is a direto x and it is not suitable to use with rizer according to the Elite. Hope your setup still works well.

Great review including the teardown, TG, showing the simplicity of the construction inside. Although using Sterzo is not a completely realistic experience because one actually leans to steer a real bike at riding speed (not by turning the handlebars), it's still fun and mostly intuitive in the simulation. I do hope Zwift introduces more opportunities to use steering as it is more engaging of an experience. I had an issue with creaking during steering and I was completely baffled as to where the noise was coming from. As a mechanical engineer I absolutely could not give up until I figured it out. It turned out that the front tire must have dried out a bit and/or I had it at a different pressure, and it created the creaking due to the slight change in "lean" when "cornering". This change in angle during a turn caused the contact point of the tire to roll (and therefore rub) as it leans slightly in the steering cradle. I solved the problem by rubbing a bit of Armor All on the tire where it contacts the steering cradle. Now the tire slides smoothly in the lean and there's no more creak.

For the price of some of these I bought a trail bike and e-bike and had money left over. It's a no from me.
